Dinner & A Show
Modeled after the classic jazz club combination of an intimate performance with a great meal in a cool club, this series features some of our festival’s brightest lights in jazz. We’ve partnered with Kitchen Sync and noted chef Ben Kramer to expand our Dinner & A Show series.
JUNO-winner Allison Au leads an all-star lineup including soulful Canadian piano virtuoso Robi Botos, former U of Manitoba prof George Colligan, chanteuse Ellen Doty, and local favourites Erin Propp & Larry Roy.
If you’re a jazz lover who has travelled, you’ve most likely been to the type of club we at Jazz Winnipeg often wish we had here in Winnipeg — a small, intimate room with phenomenal musicians on stage and tables cozily nestled around. Martinis being shaken, wine poured, the horns blare, the piano rumbles. We want to create that experience for you, if only for a week.
The intimate Kitchen Sync is a modern, cozy event space on the edge of Winnipeg’s historic Exchange District. Featuring great wines and creative cocktails, its the perfect space to kick back and take in a great meal and great music.
Chef Ben Kramer is the internationally celebrated chef who has changed the culinary landscape of Western Canada and helped establish Winnipeg as one of the most vibrant food scenes in North America. Kramer is innovative, outgoing and personable. You’ll have seen his recipes featured in several food magazines and books. He’s a favorite guest on Winnipeg`s live morning television show and he continues to work with a passionate commitment to sustainability and quality. Whether he’s creating the menu for an intimate brunch or a conference gathering of thousands, Chef Kramer applies the same principles– use local, sustainable, organic ingredients with flare and imagination.
Ben says, "I am a long time Jazz Fest patron. This year, I'm really excited to be a partner and pair some fun local food with some great music. My team and I are really looking forward to it!
