Manitoba flamenco guitarist Philippe Meunier is an accomplished musician and composer, who blends various genres such as jazz and Latin music. His performances combine rumba rhythms and captivating dance acts with the singing of Western Canadian Music Award nominee Onna Lou. His passion for flamenco has led him to the heart of Spain, and his compositions are inspired by authentic Spanish music. The summer of 2024 will bring him back to Spain, where he will be performing at the international Sea, Sun Festival in Catalonia.
Philippe has performed across Canada and has been the guest artist on several CBC Radio programs. He has performed at International Jazz Festivals and in conjunction with major events such as the operas Carmen and Don Giovanni by Manitoba Opera. His talent has also been showcased at the opening of the Picasso exhibition at the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Altogether, his musical path has led him on an inspired journey, allowing him to share his passion wherever life takes him.
