Impressions Jazz Group

For the past six years, Impressions Jazz Group has been actively performing original modal jazz, jazz fusion and world music compositions, with a diverse and rotating roster of Winnipeg's leading jazz players. Over the past year, we have solidified our group sound as one of the leading jazz groups performing original jazz compositions in the Winnipeg jazz scene, such as at CCFM/Mardi Jazz, and our own curated series at The Cube Stage.

This creative ensemble is influenced by a diverse mix of musical and cultural traditions that give the group its unique sound, such as bop, avant-garde, blues, modal jazz, and world music traditions. The music creates a rich musical tapestry that inspires improvisation. The energetic and inspirational sound of the group’s music is also readily accessible to those unfamiliar with jazz, lending the group wider audience appeal.
