Dhiego Costa is a Brazilian-born pianist whose musical journey spans over two decades of mastery. Rooted in the rich traditions of samba, bossa nova, and baião, Dhiego's passion for the piano led him to pursue an academic path, culminating in a Master's Degree in jazz piano from the University of Manitoba, where he was awarded a full scholarship.

During his time as a student at the University of Manitoba, Dhiego's talents extended beyond performances as he served as a teacher assistant for the piano laboratory class, guiding undergraduate students on their own musical quests.

Dhiego's academic pursuits are complemented by a diverse educational background, including a post baccalaureate degree in Music Education from Candido Mendes University in Rio de Janeiro, and a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano) with academic Honours Distinction from the Federal University of Paraiba. Additionally, he holds a bachelor of arts in Sacred Music from the Baptist Theological Seminary of Northern Brazil.

Throughout his career as a pianist, Dhiego has showcased his exceptional skills on stages worldwide. As the pianist for the University Choir at the Federal University of Paraiba, he brought depth to his performances for four remarkable years touring all around Brazil. His musical journey has also taken him across borders, performing with ensembles such as the Campbellsville University Jazz Orchestra in the United States, the Brazilian Jazz Combo (USA), and leading the Dhiego Jazz Trio in New Zealand where he performed at many venues, including CPIT Jazz School in Christchurch (NZ).

Dhiego's passion for sharing his expertise extends beyond performance. He has conducted workshops on Brazilian music and jazz improvisation in various settings. With his unparalleled talent and unwavering dedication to his craft, Dhiego continues to captivate audiences with his soulful interpretations and dynamic performances, solidifying his place in the Winnipeg music scene.
