About the Late Set with Sheena Rattai

With her unmistakable voice and heartbreaking delivery, Sheena Rattai has been delighting audiences home and abroad her whole life. Growing up in the gospel tradition of the pentecostal Church, her ear for harmony and connection to the joyous divine set in at a young age. Naturally, she pursued studies in jazz and opera at the U of M, where she refined her techniques, broadened her repertoire, and integrated to the thriving Winnipeg music scene.

Equally at ease fronting underground funk bands and delivering arias, she took up a whole new challenge that would take her around the world: folksong. Perhaps best known for her original work with avant-folk trio Red Moon Road, her incredible vocal and emotional range has won her lifetime fans across Canada, the US, and Europe.

Emerging from her pandemic perch in the woods of the Whiteshell, Sheena, accompanied by dear friends and some of Winnipeg’s finest musicians, proposes an evening of inspired music, familiar and new.
