For one very special Halloween evening, The Basement presents The River City Syncopators! Winnipeg's only 1920s hot jazz band in Winnipeg's only true authentic 1920s speakeasy - this is going to be one fun, unforgettable Halloween. 

So dress yourself up, find the secret entrance, and dance the night away at The Basement Speakeasy for a 1920s hot jazz night like they had back in the days of old.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Jonathan Alexiuk (arranger/pianist) has been performing professionally since 1996. He is a prolific arranger of vocal and instrumental music; his arrangements have been played by the Ron Paley Big Band, the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, the Memory Lane Orchestra, Those Guys, the U of W Downtown Vocal Jazz Choir, and the Air Command Band, among many others. At various times, he fills the roles of clinician, adjudicator, instructor, accompanist, and album producer. When not performing locally and around southern Manitoba, he regularly entertains on both the Holland America and Princess cruise lines, putting his vast musical repertoire to use.
