Tetyana Haraschuk is an original with a sense of artistry in composition as well as in drumming. The “freaky alien” textures, psychedelic vocals, ‘80s guitar, synth bass and rule-breaking grooves are what define the 25-year-old’s unique alternative jazz rock style. She crafts a wide variety of sounds that stretch from delicate to frightening while disregarding genre boundaries and conventions. Haraschuk is an equally expressive storyteller, both in music and in life.
On August 20th, Tetyana’s trio will be joined by two very special guest vocalists, presenting new lyrics, new vocal arrangements, and songs that are unique but perfect for a Sunday evening.

The Wild Rice Quartet features Gareth Rice on piano, Liam Allan on bass, Dan Keding on guitar, and Tetyana Haraschuk on drums, all regularly active on the Winnipeg musics cene. Drawing inspiration from the great jazz quartets of Oscar Peterson, Thelonious Monk and Wes Montgomery, the band provides a well-seasoned blend of engaging and unconventional approaches to lesser known standards, Canadian compositions, and originals while showcasing a wealth of musical creativity.
