Award-winning, internationally-recognized singer Monika Wall has spent a decade establishing herself in cathedrals, thunderous concert stages, and theatrical productions around the world. Whether singing spirituals, blues, jazz, opera, or musical theatre—her singing voice has been said to have the capacity to “change lives,” according to Micah Barnes of The Nylons. Combining forces with Juno Award-winning producer Murray Pulver, she’s currently recording her new album. Wall released her debut album Parallel Mondo in 2012.
With a classic bluesy sound that references her Afro-American gospel choir past, Wall’s songwriting combines the warmth of roots, smooth groove of R&B, and the power of gritty blues. Wall has shared the stage with Kathy Sledge (Sister Sledge), Brad Turner, and Mike Janzen (Steve Bell). She has performed with the Manitoba Opera, Rainbow Stage, and the Nu Sounds Series. In 2016, she performed her new single, Big Blue Waves with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra to thunderous applause.
