Drummer Curtis Nowosad and guitarist Keith Price have performed together in many different projects since 2004, and their on-stage connection and friendship off the bandstand has led them to co-lead an exciting new group that also features Neil Watson on saxophone, Will Bonness on piano, and Julian Bradford on bass. After a successful 2008, including performances at the GROOVE-FM Jazz Winnipeg Festival and The Winnipeg Art Gallery’s Jazz on the Rooftop series, Nowosad and Price are proud to be back again at this year’s festival. As a complement to the group’s modern jazz sound, they will be exploring the musical possibilities of 20th- and 21st-century popular music, from The Beatles to The Police, from Marvin Gaye to Mos Def.
