ARTIST SUBMISSIONS
We are now accepting submissions for the 2012 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.
Due to the high volume of submissions, it is not possible to return them.
All submissions should be addressed to:

CANADIAN-BASED MUSICIANS (from outside of the Winnipeg area)
Artist submission deadline: Friday, October 14, 2011.
Canadian musicians should submit their materials (CD, sample of press clippings and a cover letter) by October 14 in order to ensure that there is ample time to assess your materials.
Due to the high cost of travel in Canada, most Canadian musicians need to apply for a touring grant from the Canada Council in order to facilitate working all or part of the Canadian jazz festival circuit. The Canada Council deadline for Music Touring Grants is usually December 1st. Please check their website for information. (see Grant Programs > Grant deadlines > Music)
MUSICIANS FROM OUTSIDE CANADA
Artist submission deadline: Friday, October 14, 2011.
International applications are accepted on an ongoing basis. However, many programming decisions take place by mid-October (through mid November), so it is recommended that packages (including CD, bio, press, and complete contact information) be sent to our office ASAP.
We will meet with other Canadian festivals in early November (and again at the end of January), at which time many tour plans are developed. It is preferred that your materials are sent to each individual festival well in advance of the meetings for proper consideration.
WINNIPEG-BASED MUSICIANS
Artist submission deadline: Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 5:00 pm.
Jazz Winnipeg is inviting local musicians to apply to be a part of the 2012 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival.
Programming emphasis is obviously placed on jazz music, but pop, blues, roots, indie, R&B, soul and urban music are also important parts of the event.
Submissions should demonstrate forethought about repertoire and personnel. Please tell us what you plan to do, how it is different from your local performances throughout the year, and why it should be a part of this exciting event!
