GABRIEL PALATCHI TRIO
Featured as an emerging artist in Billboard Magazine, Gabriel has been called one of the “new young lions” of latin jazz. Born in 1982 in Buenos Aires, Gabriel began piano lessons at age 8 and studied at the Berklee international School under many great maestros—Alvaro Torres, Ricardo Nole, and Ernesto Jodos. His music is a fresh fusion of latin jazz, tango, funk, klezmer, gypsy, reggae, samba, and electronic, and has been featured in Rolling Stone Magazine, Latin Jazz Network, and Inside World Music.
Gabriel’s first solo release, Diario de Viaje (2010) was called one of the year’s best latin jazz albums by JAZZ FM Toronto. Gabriel and his band have played numerous international jazz festivals, including the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, Fiestaval Latin, and Quebec City International Jazz Festival. His latest release, Trivolution (2015) won Gold Medal and Top Ten 2015 at the Global Music Awards. The album presents a trio concept featuring Jose “Chema” Gonzalez on drums and Kerry Galloway on electric bass, along with special guests.
