Phew! What a busy–but fun–few days! Friday brought Elizabeth Shepherd to town followed by Born Ruffians on Saturday and Emilie-Claire Barlow (pictured above) on Tuesday. All three shows were unique and wonderful. Thanks to all three groups, The Park Theatre team, and most of all the great audiences who came out to support the shows. Thanks also to Paolo Porquez for the great shot above.

We’ve got a super-fun mid-summer concert announcement coming up on April 4 and then we announce the complete line-up for the 2011 TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival on April 15.

We kicked off the 2010/2011 Nu Sounds Series last month with a genre-blending concert pairing the Curtis Nowosad Trio with local hip hop group Magnum K.I. The results were fun, challenging and the perfect example of what Nu Sounds is all about – Manitoba musicians developing new musical ideas.

If you missed the concert, or if you were there and want to relive the experience, the show was recorded and is now available to stream online. Just click on the handy-dandy music player below!

And don’t forget, the next Nu Sounds Series concert is next Sunday, January 16, when bassist Luke Sellick brings his quartet to the Park Theatre. All the details are HERE!
