Casati began as The Grace Hrabi Trio, arranging jazz standards and dabbling in songwriting on their 2014 release, Afraid of Heights. As the band prioritized original music, they created a unique blend of folk and jazz with sincere, direct lyricism and musical inventiveness. Casati’s music is alive with lush, three-part harmonies and rich textures of ukulele, guitar, double bass, and hurdy-gurdy. Casati’s debut 2017 album, There Will Be Days, was recorded while the trio was snowed in at the Roseisle studio of engineer Don Benedicton (Oh My Darling, Bros. Landreth). Recorded live off the floor with few overdubs or edits, the ten-song album has the feeling of listening to a live Casati performance.
